How to Save Time When Creating a Piece of Poser Artwork

How to Save Time When Creating a Piece of Poser Artwork

I've had more than one instance when I needed to create a piece of Poser artwork quickly. When doing this, you don't want to just slap something together, because that will be noticeable. However, if you do need to put together something quickly, there are a number of short-cuts that you can take to save time when creating a piece of Poser artwork. Here are some ways that you can save time when creating a piece of Poser artwork.

Things You'll Need:

Computer

Poser software

Step
1

Use a photograph or other pre-prepared picture. This can even be a Poser scene that you have rendered at another time as your background. It can take time to put together a background from props and such, but if you already have a nice photograph or other picture, this can save you a lot of time and still look very nice.

Step
2

When choosing clothes for your 3D human model, only use conforming clothing. Conforming clothing will fit to your 3D human model when you give it the command to conform to the model, and it will move with the model as you move the model into different poses. This is also true for conforming hair props.

Step
3

Instead of creating your light set-up from scratch, use a pre-made light set. There are dozens of free light sets online. You should not need to ever purchase light sets, but keep in mind that some Poser packages may come with a special light set.

Step
4

Instead of trying to pose your 3D human model from scratch, use pre-made poses. As with the light sets, there are dozens, if not hundreds, of pose packages available both for free and for sale online. As with the lights, Renderosity has several free pose sets. Even if you can't find the pose you want, you should be able to find one that is close, and then you can modify it.

Step
5

While many 3D digital artists enjoy creating their own characters, textures and even clothing models and props, doing so can be very time consuming. Instead of creating your own, use characters, textures, models and props created by others to save time. As with the lights and poses, there are hundreds of Poser items such as these available online. Many are even free.

Tips & Warnings

Before purchasing any Poser items you might need for a picture, check the free sections in Renderosity and elsewhere online to see if what you need is available for free.
